Fernando Clavijo criticizes Pedro Sánchez and discusses electoral candidates

Canarian President Fernando Clavijo has accused Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez of exhibiting 'arrogance' and 'moral superiority' following Sánchez's comments regarding the composition of Parliament. Clavijo defended the legitimacy of the legislative body, asserting that it must reflect the results of the popular vote regardless of whether the outcome is favorable to specific parties. He further suggested that Sánchez benefits from political polarization and confrontation.

In a separate development regarding the upcoming general elections on November 29, Clavijo endorsed Teodoro Sosa, co-founder of Primero Canarias, as the best possible candidate for the Las Palmas constituency. Clavijo described Sosa as the most valued politician in Gran Canaria. Sosa responded by expressing his willingness to support the coalition, emphasizing his party's commitment to Canarian nationalism and the pursuit of a unified political alliance to secure representation in Congress.
