Fernando Clavijo named Coalición Canaria candidate for Canary Islands presidency
Fernando Clavijo has been officially proclaimed the unanimous candidate for Coalición Canaria to run for the Presidency of the Canary Islands in the regional elections scheduled for May 2027. During the announcement by the party's National Political Council, Clavijo called for unity and warned of upcoming political attacks intended to discredit the formation.
Clavijo emphasized that the party will maintain an independent political agenda separate from national developments in Madrid. He identified several priority issues for the archipelago, including housing, migration, regional financing, and the development of the ‘Decreto Canarias’ to define the relationship between the Canary Islands and the Spanish government.
