Fernando Diniz cleared by STJD, avoids suspension

Corinthians head coach Fernando Diniz was accused of striking Athletico-PR midfielder Jadson during the final minutes of a goalless draw in the 21st round of Brazil's Serie A. The incident resulted in a yellow card for Diniz, and the Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva (STJD) opened a disciplinary case under article 250 of the Brazilian Sports Justice Code.

The STJD's Second Disciplinary Commission, led by auditor Ana Luiza Ralil, ruled that the contact had already been penalised on the field and did not constitute an autonomous hostile act. The panel voted unanimously to absolve Diniz, meaning he will not serve a suspension of one to three matches, though the decision remains subject to appeal before the full STJD.
