Fernando Espinoza warns of industrial decline in Argentina

Fernando Espinoza, the Mayor of La Matanza and President of the Argentine Federation of Municipalities, has issued a strong critique of the current national government's economic policies. Speaking on Industry Day, Espinoza warned that the closure of industrial establishments, SMEs, and businesses is threatening the country's future, noting that in his district alone, more than 200 entities have ceased operations.

Espinoza highlighted the economic distress in the Quinta Sección electoral region, citing high unemployment rates in cities like Mar del Plata and a general collapse in economic activity. He argued that the current administration's policies have left citizens, including retirees and the middle class, unable to meet basic needs.

To counter these challenges, the La Matanza government is promoting a strategy focused on education and technology. This includes the development of a Scientific and Technological Pole, which aims to create over 10,000 jobs in robotics and new technologies, alongside the establishment of vocational schools and worker cooperatives to bolster employment.
