Fernando Farías Laguna linked to maritime tax fraud network

Former Rear Admiral Fernando Farías Laguna has been formally linked to a judicial process regarding his alleged involvement in a tax fraud network known as ‘Los primos’. The network reportedly operated within maritime customs.

During judicial proceedings, defense attorney Epigmeo Mendieta revealed that Farías Laguna’s testimony mentions an individual referred to by the nickname ‘Andy’. According to the defense, ‘Andy’ was allegedly responsible for issuing orders to ensure operations were not disrupted. One specific instance cited involved a vessel stuck in Guaymas, Sonora, where network operators claimed they would contact ‘Andy’ to resolve the situation through the Secretary of the Navy.

Additionally, the defense attorney noted that an unidentified politician from Tabasco allegedly issued orders regarding significant operations, though no specific names were provided in the court statements.
