Fernando Haddad calls for end to secrecy in Banco Master investigations

Fernando Haddad, the PT candidate for the governorship of São Paulo, has called for the lifting of secrecy on all investigations related to the Banco Master case. During a campaign event in Brasilândia, Haddad argued that the Supreme Federal Court should reveal all details, including those involving its own ministers, to ensure voters are fully informed before the upcoming elections.

The call follows a decision by Minister André Mendonça to unseal proceedings investigating messages between former banker Daniel Vorcaro, currently imprisoned for alleged multi-billion dollar frauds, and Minister Alexandre de Moraes. The unsealed material reportedly showed Vorcaro consulting the magistrate on various topics and involved a contract between a firm owned by the minister's wife and Banco Master.

Haddad characterized the situation as a “mafia” involving a specific political group, alleging that investigations must reach their conclusion to punish those involved and create a proper institutional environment for accountability.
