Fernando Hazoury named Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year

Fernando Hazoury, a prominent figure in the tourism and construction sectors, has been honored as the “Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year” at the fifth edition of the National Tourism Awards in Santo Domingo. The award recognizes his strategic leadership and contributions to the Dominican Republic’s tourism industry, specifically through the development of the Cap Cana destination.

During his acceptance speech, Hazoury dedicated the recognition to the Hazoury Toral family, highlighting the vision of his late brother, Ricardo, in establishing Cap Cana. He also credited the award to the collective effort of the Cap Cana team and the employees who have supported the project’s growth over many years.

In addition to Hazoury, the ceremony honored several other figures for their contributions to the industry, including Juan José Hidalgo for his work in air connectivity, Luis Felipe Aquino for tourism promotion, and journalist Leonardo Medrano for his communications legacy.
