Fernando Leite details new hospitals and health centers in Brasília

In a live interview on the program Vozes da Comunidade, Fernando Leite, president of the capital‑city development company Novacap, presented the progress of major public‑works projects in Brazil’s Federal District. He highlighted the construction of three new hospitals – Planaltina, Recanto das Emas and São Sebastião – intended to expand regional care and reduce travel times for patients. Leite also reported that dozens of new Basic Health Units (UBS) are at various stages of completion, aiming to decentralise primary‑care services and ease pressure on existing hospitals.

He emphasized the broader goal of improving infrastructure and quality of life for Brasília’s residents, stating, “Estamos avançando rapidamente para garantir que a infraestrutura de saúde acompanhe o crescimento do DF.” The interview covered other ongoing works such as road paving, park maintenance and urban revitalisation, underscoring Novacap’s role in the district’s development agenda.
