Fernando Paulo suspends Porto council mandate for Social Security role
Fernando Paulo, a Socialist Party councilor for the Porto City Council, has requested a four-month suspension of his mandate. The request was unanimously approved during a public meeting of the municipal executive.
During this period, lawyer Helena Maia will serve as his substitute. The suspension follows Paulo's appointment as the acting director of the Porto District Social Security center, a position noted in the Diário da República on July 6.
Paulo previously held responsibilities for Housing, Education, and Social Cohesion under the administration led by Rui Moreira. He also served as a councilor in Gondomar between 1994 and 2013.
