Fernando Tatis Jr. named NL Player of the Week

Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres has been named the MLB National League Player of the Week. During the period from August 17 to August 23, the outfielder batted .480 with 12 hits in 25 at-bats, including four home runs and 11 RBIs.

Tatis Jr. also earned the Play of the Week honors for a spectacular defensive catch at Citi Field that prevented a grand slam by Francisco Lindor. He is only the second player in MLB history to win both awards in the same week, joining Juan Soto.

In the American League, Zach Neto of the Los Angeles Angels was named Player of the Week. Neto batted .500, recording 14 hits in 28 at-bats, including two home runs, four doubles, and nine RBIs over six games.
