Ferno road closures continue following violent whirlwind

Cleanup efforts are underway in Ferno following a violent whirlwind that struck the area on Monday evening, August 24. Local police and technical offices have been working since Tuesday morning to remove fallen plants and clear debris from the streets.

While Via Santa Maria was cleared overnight, traffic remains blocked at the intersection of Via Matteotti and Via Piave with Via De Gasperi. Mayor Sarah Foti noted that firefighters and Enel technicians have not yet been able to intervene due to higher-priority emergencies. Local authorities advise motorists to avoid the affected areas and use alternative routes.

In nearby Gallarate, a fallen tree is also blocking the intersection of Via Palestro and Via San Rocco.
