Feroz Khan: Remembering the legendary Bollywood actor and director

On his birth anniversary, the life and career of legendary Bollywood actor and director Feroz Khan are being commemorated. Known for his distinct style and action-oriented films, Khan left a significant mark on Hindi cinema during the 1970s and 1980s.

His film ‘Qurbani’ stands as a major milestone, earning over 6 crore rupees against a budget of 1.55 crore rupees and running for three consecutive months in Mumbai. The massive success reportedly required a dedicated team to count the box office earnings.

Khan was also known for his firm principles and outspoken nature. He famously declined a role in the film ‘Hera Pheri’ because the shooting schedule included Sundays, a day he refused to work. This decision led to the role being offered to Amitabh Bachchan. His career, which began with small roles in the mid-1950s, eventually saw him become a superstar through hits like ‘Dharmatma’, ‘Jaanbaaz’, and ‘Kaala Sona’.

Beyond his professional achievements, Khan’s life included various controversies, including unverified rumors regarding his relationship with Parveen Babi and a heated verbal altercation with an anchor during a film premiere in Pakistan in 2006.
