Italian summer music festivals 2026 draw crowds in Campania and Puglia
The 31st edition of Pomigliano Jazz runs from 30 August to 12 September across historic sites in Campania, including the crater of Vesuvius, the paleochristian basilicas of Cimitile and the Roman amphitheatre of Avella. The programme features Raiz & Solis String Quartet, Danilo Rea, Stefano Di Battista Quintet, Maurizio De Giovanni with Marco Zurzolo and a closing concert by Billy Cobham with his Time Machine project, plus VesuviusJazz environmental tours.
Napoli’s "La Notte della Tammorra" returns on 11‑12 September in Piazza Mercato, free of charge and part of the "Estate a Napoli 2026" series. The festival pays tribute to the late ethnomusicologist Roberto De Simone and includes performances by Lina Sastri, Tony Esposito, Ciccio Merolla and other leading artists of Neapolitan popular music.
On 16 August the Metaponto Beach Festival takes place at Castello Torremare in Bernalda, presenting a reggae line‑up (Davide Shorty, Fido Guido, Killacat & Gioman, Krikka Reggae) that highlights Southern Italian dialects and cultural exchange.
The final concert of the Notte della Taranta, the "Concertone", is scheduled for 22 August in Melpignano, Lecce province. It will be broadcast live on Rai channels and San Marino RTV, featuring Giulia Vecchio, Ermal Meta and other guest artists, marking one of the most prominent European popular‑music events of the summer.
