Ferran Torres' contract talks, US media tour and first‑pitch appearance

Spain’s World Cup hero Ferran Torres, who scored the winning goal in the 2026 final, is under contract with FC Barcelona until 30 June 2027. While the club plans to open renewal talks in September, Torres has repeatedly said, “I have a contract, but in football you never know.”

He is currently on a U.S. promotional tour with Under Armour, appearing on NBC’s Today Show, CNN and ESPN. During the visit he threw the ceremonial first pitch at New York Yankees’ stadium. Paris Saint‑Germain have been linked as a potential suitor, and Tottenham Hotspur have also been reported to be interested, but Barcelona says it has no intention to sell before the contract expires.

The striker’s statements and the media exposure have kept his future a major talking point across Spanish, French and American sports outlets.
