Ferran Torres joins Paris Saint-Germain from FC Barcelona

Spanish forward Ferran Torres has joined Paris Saint-Germain from FC Barcelona in a transfer valued at €50 million. Following his move to the reigning European champions, Torres described the transition as a “step forward” in his career.

Torres noted that while he was initially expected to be a focal point for Barcelona, the club's failure to initiate contract extension talks led to his departure. He highlighted his close relationship with PSG manager Luis Enrique, whom he described as being “like a father” to him since his time with the Spanish national team.

Torres made an immediate impact in his club debut against Stade Rennais, scoring two goals as a substitute to secure a 2-2 draw. He becomes only the third player in PSG history to score twice on his debut, joining Patrick Mboma and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
