Spain forward Ferran Torres leaves national team due to injury

Spain forward Ferran Torres has left the national team camp due to a persistent left ankle injury. The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) confirmed that the Paris Saint-Germain player will return to his club to prioritize recovery, noting that medical staff have been in continuous contact with PSG throughout the process.

Real Madrid forward Carlos Espí has been called up by manager Luis de la Fuente to replace Torres for Spain’s upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against the Czech Republic and Croatia. Espí earns his first senior call-up following a standout performance with the Under-21 squad, where he recently scored five goals in a match against San Marino.

Torres’ departure adds to a growing list of absences for the Spanish squad during this international window, which includes players such as Nico Williams and Alejandro Grimaldo.
