Ferran Torres reflects on winning 2026 World Cup goal

Spanish forward Ferran Torres has reflected on his decisive winning goal in the 2026 World Cup final against Argentina, which secured Spain's second world title. Torres described the moment as the most special of his life, emphasizing the collective emotion and the support of his teammates and country.

Recounting the play, Torres noted that the goal resulted from a sequence involving Lamine Yamal, Porro, and Nico Williams, who headed the ball to Torres for the finish in extra time. He described experiencing a sense of “absolute silence” and feeling as though he were “on an island” just before striking the ball. The striker admitted to watching the footage of the goal at least once a day, noting the intense adrenaline rush experienced during the match.
