Ferrandina awards Hydrolab scholarship to top student Lorena Pia Berdicchia

A ceremony was held in the council chamber of the municipality of Ferrandina to present the "Hydrolab per i talenti" scholarship for the 2025/2026 school year. The €800 award was given to Lorena Pia Berdicchia, who graduated with the highest marks in Chemistry, Materials and Biotechnology at the Istituto Tecnico Statale "F. Cassola" (I.I.S. Bernalda‑Ferrandina).

The scholarship is sponsored by Hydrolab S.r.l., a local company specializing in chemical‑environmental analysis. Hydrolab’s sole administrator, Ing. Pietro Mazziotta, said the firm believes corporate social responsibility starts in schools and aims to encourage environmental stewardship and scientific competence. The project was coordinated with school principal Prof. Giosuè Ferruzzi and mayor Avv. Carmine Lisanti. Mazziotta confirmed that a second edition of the program will launch in September 2026, continuing the investment in young talent from the Basilicata region.
