Ferrara Cathedral restoration enters new phase

A new phase of restoration work is set to begin at the Ferrara Cathedral on August 24. The project, which is expected to last approximately two years, involves setting up construction sites on the side facades located along Piazza Trento e Trieste and Via Adelardi.

The Municipality of Ferrara is managing the administrative and operational procedures on behalf of the Ministry of Culture. This stage follows the recent completion of scaffolding removal from the cathedral's bell tower. Additionally, work will continue on the bell tower to complete the installation of lightning protection and containment systems.

To minimize disruption to local businesses, the scaffolding in Piazza Trento e Trieste will be suspended and accessible via specialized ladders, avoiding ground-level occupation. In Via Adelardi, the scaffolding is designed to have a limited footprint at the base, expanding only at higher levels, ensuring continued access to commercial activities.
