Ferrara establishes Anti-Maranza Task Force to combat urban insecurity

The city of Ferrara has launched the Nucleo Anti Maranza (NAM), a specialized task force designed to address rising concerns regarding urban insecurity and aggressive behavior. Announced by Mayor Alan Fabbri, the initiative serves as a national experiment in civic security, aiming to provide both prevention and repression of criminal or disruptive activities.

The task force will involve a multidisciplinary team, including local police, lawyers, psychologists, social workers, and security experts. The decision follows recent reports of looting and unrest in other Italian cities such as Milan and Bologna. The municipal government intends for the NAM to respond to the growing anxieties of local families and business owners regarding public order and the protection of community property.
