Italy expands nursery school services through new facility openings

Several Italian municipalities are inaugurating or funding new nursery school facilities, largely supported by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

In Ferrara, the ‘I Girasoli’ nursery has opened with an investment of approximately 1.84 million euros, combining PNRR funds and municipal resources to expand educational services for children aged 0-6. In Diano Marina, the ‘Sbirulino’ nursery, named after Sandra Mondaini, has been inaugurated to accommodate 40 children, following a 1.4 million euro investment.

In Monteroni d’Arbia, the new ‘Il Gomitolo’ facility provides 60 additional places for children aged 12 to 36 months, representing a 1.9 million euro investment. Meanwhile, in Magnago, a new wing has expanded the local nursery capacity to over 60 children. Other regional developments include the opening of ‘La Vigna’ in Maggianico and a 40,000 euro extraordinary contribution from Ceriale to support the ‘Il Flauto Magico’ nursery managed by the Caterina Parodi Foundation.
