Ferrara Marathon unveils historic‑centre course for 2027 edition
The organizers of the Ferrara Marathon announced a revised route for the 41st edition scheduled on 28 February 2027. The 42.195 km marathon, a 21 km half‑marathon and a 10 km city run will now start and finish in front of the Castello Estense, routing runners through the Renaissance historic centre and avoiding the previous stretch to the Po river. The new layout, designed by Ravenna InSporte and the Ravenna Runners Club in partnership with the Comune di Ferrara, is awaiting official approval from the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL).
Separately, the Aeronautica Militare will host its annual “Spring Run” at the Coa logistics base on 6 September. The open‑day event, supported by the Ferrara municipality and local sport associations, combines a public‑friendly run with a charity fundraiser for the “Un dono dal cielo 2026” project. Officials highlighted the initiative’s role in promoting physical activity, community engagement, and solidarity.
Both events underline Ferrara’s focus on sport as a tool for urban promotion, tourism, and social cohesion.
