Ferrara municipality opens disability commuting grants
The Municipality of Ferrara has opened a public notice to provide financial support to people with disabilities for commuting between home and work. The initiative has a total budget of over 60,000 euros, with individual grants capped at a maximum of 3,000 euros per applicant.
Approved by the municipal board, the aid is designed to reimburse expenses incurred during 2025. For those using personal or family vehicles, or social transport services, a flat rate of 70 cents per kilometer will be reimbursed. The distance is calculated based on the route provided by Google Maps for one round trip per day of in-person work, excluding remote working days.
Support is also available for individuals who have purchased or modified vehicles for accessibility, such as electric bicycles, quadricycles, or electric wheelchairs. Residents of the Centro-Nord district are eligible to apply through the municipal website.
