Ferrara prison inmates to perform Pinocchio play

Inmates at the C. Satta prison in Ferrara are set to perform a unique production of Pinocchio, a project designed to explore themes of identity, error, and redemption. Directed by Daniele Giuliani, the performance uses the classic character as a metaphor for the human journey through mistakes and social labels.

The production is a collaborative effort with the Teatro Nucleo company, which has worked within the Ferrara penitentiary for over twenty years to use theater as a tool for personal growth and autonomy. The play is scheduled to debut within the prison on October 23, followed by a performance at the Teatro Comunale Claudio Abbado in Ferrara on November 5, marking the bicentennial of Carlo Collodi.
