Ferrari 250 GTO documentary to premiere in Italian cinemas
The documentary film ‘Ferrari 250 GTO - L'auto di Mauro Forghieri che salvò Maranello’, directed by Steve Hoover, is scheduled for release in Italian cinemas on September 7, 8, and 9.
The film explores a pivotal moment in 1961 when Enzo Ferrari dismissed his entire engineering and racing departments to appoint 26-year-old engineer Mauro Forghieri to lead both divisions. Forghieri played a crucial role in developing the Ferrari 250 GTO, an automobile credited with saving the company and initiating a new era for the brand.
Filmed across Italy, England, and the United States, the production combines archival footage with exclusive testimonies. Featured contributors include Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, fashion designer Ralph Lauren, and McLaren engineer Gordon Murray.
