Ferrari advances engine technology amid brand evolution
Ferrari is undergoing a strategic evolution, balancing its traditional heritage with modern engineering. The company, now valued at over 60 billion euros, is transitioning from a niche manufacturer to a global luxury brand comparable to high-end watchmakers. This transformation is driven by in-house development of engines, transmissions, and aerodynamic systems at its Maranello campus.
Despite the rise of electric vehicles, Ferrari remains committed to internal combustion and hybrid technologies. A recent patent suggests the company is working on a highly advanced thermal engine configuration. This design reportedly utilizes a triple-charge system consisting of one high-capacity mechanical turbocharger and two electric volumetric compressors. This setup aims to optimize power delivery across different engine speeds, potentially enhancing thermal engines without relying solely on full electrification.
