Ferrari backs Frederic Vasseur amid leadership speculation

Ferrari has issued an official statement of support for team principal Frederic Vasseur following speculation regarding his future with the team. The announcement follows comments from former Red Bull director Christian Horner, who expressed interest in joining the Italian outfit during the current Formula 1 season.

Ferrari communications director Maria Conti held an emergency press conference to convey the stance of Chairman John Elkann and CEO Benedetto Vigna. Conti emphasized that the organization maintains full confidence in Vasseur and his team, stating, “Ferrari stands behind Frederic Vasseur. Together we are working to achieve our goals this year.”

The team aims to maintain stability and continuity throughout the championship to avoid distractions. Despite facing engine performance challenges compared to Mercedes and Red Bull, Ferrari currently sits second in the constructors' championship. Driver Lewis Hamilton also expressed confidence in the team's direction under Vasseur's leadership.
