Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna praises Tesla Roadster

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna has awarded Tesla’s new Roadster a double 10 out of 10 rating, specifically praising both its technology and its presentation. Speaking at a Quattroruote automotive conference, Vigna remarked, “As a European, thank you for showing us that even in an old world, you can still innovate and take risks.”

The praise follows Tesla’s recent unveiling of the next-generation Roadster at the SpaceX testing facility in McGregor, Texas. The demonstration featured advanced technical displays, including the vehicle remaining inverted via a suction fan system and performing aerial maneuvers using compressed gas thrusters derived from SpaceX technology. Tesla has set a target market release for the Roadster in 2028.

Vigna’s comments also touched upon the importance of external collaboration in automotive development. He noted that engaging independent designers and partners can provide perspectives that internal teams might overlook, citing Ferrari’s own partnership with LoveFrom, the design studio of former Apple designer Jony Ive, for its first fully electric model.
