Ferrari chief Fred Vasseur says team will stay cautious after Hamilton win

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur said the Scuderia will not change its approach or explicitly back Lewis Hamilton in a potential title fight, even though Hamilton cut Kimi Antonelli’s championship lead by 25 points with his victory at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona. Vasseur declined to answer whether Ferrari would fully back Hamilton, stating, "I’m not sure that I want to reply to this kind of question."

He added that the win came under extreme temperatures and was aided by a major upgrade package, but cautioned that one strong weekend does not prove the team has solved its weaknesses. Vasseur also noted that Ferrari is awaiting FIA approval to develop its power unit further via the ADUO mechanism, which could provide additional performance gains.
