Ferrari introduces 12Cilindri Manuale with simulated manual transmission

Ferrari has unveiled the 12Cilindri Manuale, a limited edition model restricted to 1,499 units. The vehicle features a unique “Manuale by-wire” system developed in Maranello, which aims to replicate the tactile experience of a traditional manual gearbox using modern technology.

While the car utilizes an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the driver interacts with a physical H-pattern gear lever and a clutch pedal. The system electronically captures movements to simulate mechanical resistance and the metallic click of a classic shifter. In manual mode, six forward gears are available, and improper shifting can result in engine stalling or jerking. The driver can switch back to automatic mode at any time.

Under the hood, the 12Cilindri Manuale retains a 6.5-liter V12 naturally aspirated engine producing 830 PS and 678 Nm of torque, capable of revving beyond 9,000 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.
