Ferrari reaffirms confidence in Fred Vasseur amid Horner rumors

Ferrari has issued an official statement to quell rumors regarding the future of Team Principal Fred Vasseur. The speculation intensified after former Red Bull Racing chief Christian Horner described Ferrari as his ‘dream job’ and the ‘sleeping giant’ of Formula 1 in an interview with The Times, suggesting he would consider joining the team as an employee.

In response, Ferrari’s head of communications, Maria Conti, held a press briefing to affirm that the team has ‘full confidence’ in Vasseur and his staff, stating that the organization’s position has not changed. Vasseur expressed frustration over the constant media scrutiny, noting that the rumors create a distracting environment for the team as they compete for positions in the Constructors’ Championship.

Former Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali also weighed in, advocating for stability in Maranello to avoid further delays in the team’s performance recovery. While some analysts point to the 2022 departure of Mattia Binotto as a cautionary tale regarding public denials of leadership changes, Ferrari maintains that its leadership structure remains settled.
