Ferrari market updates: Dino 246 GTS auction failure and new deposit policies

The luxury automotive market continues to see high-value activity involving Ferrari models. At The Quail Auction 2026, a 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS featuring a Marrone Metallizzato exterior and beige leather interior failed to sell. Despite an estimated value between approximately 94.4 million and 110.1 million yen, the vehicle did not meet the seller's reserve price.

In separate developments regarding new vehicle acquisitions, the process for ordering new Ferraris has evolved to include a two-step deposit system. Customers are now required to pay a deposit at the time of order and a second deposit before production begins to assist with manufacturer cash flow. For a single vehicle, these combined deposits can total approximately 9.8 million yen.
