Ferrari SF90 and F-35B to compete in acceleration challenge

A high-performance acceleration challenge is scheduled for October 11, 2026, at the MARISTAER base in Grottaglie, Italy. The event will pit a Ferrari SF90, driven by record-holder Fabio Barone, against a fifth-generation F-35B stealth fighter from the Italian Navy.

Organized in collaboration with the Italian Navy and MA-FRA, the trial will feature both vehicles racing side-by-side on the same track to compare their acceleration and technological capabilities. While the Ferrari represents automotive excellence, the F-35B is a military aircraft produced by Lockheed Martin with participation from Leonardo/FACO.

The event also includes a social component titled ‘Ferrari Therapy – Meccanici per un giorno’, which allows children with disabilities to participate in activities related to the car's preparation, such as tire changes and telemetry monitoring.
