Ferrari shows technical resurgence with SF-26 in 2026 season

Ferrari has seen a significant technical turnaround with the SF-26 compared to the previous season. After a difficult 2025 characterized by zero victories and Lewis Hamilton failing to reach the podium, the team strategically diverted resources toward the development of the SF-26 to prepare for new regulations.

In 2026, the team has secured two victories and moved up to second place in the constructors' championship with 358 points. The SF-26 has been noted for its chassis and aerodynamic platform, which competitors have described as a benchmark, despite a power deficit of approximately 20 to 35 horsepower compared to rivals.

While the technical leap is substantial, reliability and qualifying issues continue to hinder the team's ability to compete directly with Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton has also shown improved performance, reducing his qualifying gap to Charles Leclerc from 0.25 seconds in 2025 to 0.13 seconds in 2026.
