Ferrari introduces engine upgrades for Monza Grand Prix

Ferrari is introducing a significant technical upgrade for the upcoming Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Utilizing the FIA's Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunities (ADUO) system, the Scuderia will deploy an evolved power unit for both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. Team principal Frédéric Vasseur confirmed the update is a step in the right direction to address power deficits, specifically targeting improvements in engine performance and potentially the turbocharger efficiency.

In addition to the engine, the team is bringing aerodynamic updates, including a new rear wing designed for the low-downforce requirements of the Monza circuit. The weekend also carries heavy symbolic weight, as Ferrari will honor motorsport legend Michael Schumacher. The drivers will feature special liveries and racing suits with seven stars to commemorate Schumacher's seven world championships.

Drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have expressed optimism regarding the upgrades. Hamilton noted the importance of the high-speed track and the team's improved focus, while Leclerc emphasized that progress must also come from organizational methods and team efficiency. Meanwhile, Mercedes is planning tactical maneuvers for the weekend, potentially using Kimi Antonelli to provide a slipstream for George Russell during qualifying due to Antonelli's grid penalty.
