Ferrari to reveal exclusive track-focused 296 model in September 2026

Ferrari is preparing to unveil a new, ultra-exclusive track-focused model based on the 296 GTB. The vehicle is expected to make its official debut on September 13, 2026, during the Ferrari Racing Days at the Hungaroring circuit in Hungary.

While the official name has not been confirmed, rumors suggest the model may be called the ‘Ferrari 296 GT Modificata’. Unlike the road-going 296 GTB, this version is being developed specifically for circuit use and is expected to be produced in very limited numbers for a select group of collectors.

Recent sightings of prototypes at the Fiorano test circuit reveal significant aerodynamic enhancements. These include a redesigned front end with a large splitter, canards, and air vents in the wheel arches, as well as a radical rear design featuring flared wheel arches and large integrated air intakes. The car is expected to utilize the 2.992-liter V6 hybrid powertrain from the 296 GTB, which produces approximately 830 horsepower.
