Ferrari unveils 2026 F1 power unit and first fully electric Luce

Ferrari's 2026 Formula 1 power unit departs from the previous generation by using a compact turbocharger and forgoing the MGU‑H system. The design prioritises overall efficiency, allowing a smaller, lighter engine that frees up aerodynamic space and improves low‑rpm response, even though it sacrifices some top‑end horsepower.

At the same time, the marque presented the Ferrari Luce, its first 100 % electric road car, in Rome. The five‑meter‑long vehicle reaches 310 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds, priced at over half a million euros. Its interior blends physical controls with digital displays, and its distinctive doors and monolithic styling showcase Ferrari’s technological direction. Former chairman Luca di Montezemolo warned that the move could “destroy a myth,” reflecting the tension between tradition and innovation.
