Ferrari unveils 296 GT Modificata racing car
Ferrari has unveiled the 296 GT Modificata, a high-performance racing vehicle designed without the constraints of standard GT sporting regulations. Based on the technical foundation of the 2026 296 GT3 Evo, the Modificata version is intended for demanding clients through an exclusive program.
The vehicle features a heavily revised 3-liter mid-mounted V6 biturbo engine. Key mechanical upgrades include new connecting rods, camshafts, air intakes, intercoolers, and exhaust systems. Utilizing turbocharger technology derived from the Ferrari 499P Modificata, the engine can reach 8,500 rpm and produces 730 CV, which is approximately 130 CV more than the GT3 Evo.
Additional performance enhancements include specific gear ratios, an evolved braking system, and redesigned aerodynamics, including a new front wing, engine hood, and rear spoiler. Initial testing at Fiorano suggests the car is three seconds faster per lap than the 296 GT3 Evo. Owners also receive a two-year membership to the Club Competizioni GT.
