Ferrari unveils 296 GT Modificata track-only model

Ferrari has introduced the 296 GT Modificata, an extreme GT model designed exclusively for circuit use as part of the Club Competizioni GT program. Derived from the 296 GT3 Evo, this limited-production vehicle is engineered to bypass standard regulatory restrictions to maximize performance.

The model features a 2.992 cc V6 biturbo engine producing 730 CV (537 kW) at 7,500 rpm and 800 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm, representing a 130 CV increase over the GT3 Evo. Mechanical upgrades include a revised crankshaft, camshafts, intake system, intercoolers, turbos, and a six-speed sequential gearbox with a carbon clutch.

Aero improvements include a slotted front splitter, a specific hood, and a new rear wing with a central pillar and endplates inspired by the 499P. These modifications allow the car to lap Fiorano up to three seconds faster than the 296 GT3 Evo. The cockpit is a two-seater configuration equipped with professional racing seats, harnesses, and an intercom system for instructor-passenger communication.
