Ferrari unveils Hypersail sailing vessel for world record attempt

Ferrari has revealed the Hypersail, a 30-meter long sailing vessel designed to attempt the Jules Verne Trophy. The project aims to become the first monohull to break the record for the fastest non-stop circumnavigation of the globe, a feat currently held by multihulls since 1993.

The vessel features a yellow and grey hull equipped with 100 square meters of solar panels on the deck and hull sides to ensure energy self-sufficiency. Construction is currently underway near Pisa, with the keel and large hydrofoils being installed. The team aims to complete the journey in under 40 days, requiring an average speed of 29.5 knots.

Project leader Enrico Voltolini, formerly of Luna Rossa, has taken over the initiative to lead the challenge. The vessel is scheduled for launch in March.
