Ferrari unveils stronger engine package for Austrian Grand Prix

Ferrari will debut a new engine specification at the Austrian Grand Prix, the most significant power update of its season. The ADUO‑approved package adds roughly five horsepower through internal modifications and a Shell‑developed fuel, aiming to cut the estimated four‑percent power deficit to Mercedes.

The upgrade is part of a limited‑development program that allows teams with early‑season disadvantages to introduce improvements. Alongside the power unit, Ferrari is applying minor aerodynamic tweaks to the SF‑26 to better exploit the Red Bull Ring’s long straights. A second engine evolution is planned later in the year, making Austria a key test point for the team’s performance trajectory.
