Ferrero employee dismissed after injuring colleague during taekwondo demonstration
An employee at the Ferrero factory in Alba, Italy, was dismissed after injuring a colleague during a martial arts demonstration. The incident occurred in April 2025 at the facility where the worker was assigned to the Kinder product line.
According to court findings, the worker, an expert in taekwondo, attempted to demonstrate a movement to a colleague at the end of a shift, striking the individual twice in the abdomen. The colleague was injured as a result.
The worker challenged the dismissal, but the labor judges of the Asti court upheld the employer's decision. The court cited the “extreme gravity of his behavior,” noting that such actions could negatively impact the serenity of the work environment and production activities. The individual was also ordered to pay approximately 8,000 euros in legal costs.
