Ferrol allocates 430,000 euros for neighborhood center renovations

The Ferrol City Council has announced an allocation of approximately 430,000 euros to renovate and improve four neighborhood social centers: A Cabana, Valón, Pazos, and Santa Icía. These projects, which will be put out to tender in the coming days, are part of the POS+2026 Provincial Plan for Cooperation in Municipal Works and Services.

The renovations aim to address long-standing structural issues, including humidity, leaks, roof damage, false ceilings, and lighting. The largest portion of the budget, 163,417.94 euros, is designated for the San Antonio de A Cabana neighborhood association center. Other significant investments include 134,207.66 euros for the O Cruceiro de Valón center.

Mayor José Manuel Rey Varela stated that these actions respond directly to demands from local neighborhood associations, aiming to ensure that community entities have safe, dignified, and adequate spaces for their activities.
