Ferrol and A Coruña Municipalities Approve New Infrastructure Projects

The Ferrol town council approved a tender worth €141,738 for the design, construction and two‑month installation of a pilot modular beach cabin in the Doniños sand dunes. The seven‑module unit will include lifeguard services, accessible changing rooms, showers and natural lighting, and is intended to be replicated on other local beaches.

Separately, the A Coruña city council granted the Deportivo de A Coruña permission to refurbish the historic Torre de Marathón at the Riazor stadium and create a public viewing platform. The renovation, part of a broader stadium modernization that includes new museum and hospitality spaces, follows earlier heritage approval and aims to integrate the 1944 tower into daily city life.

Both projects reflect municipal efforts in Galicia to upgrade public facilities, improve accessibility and boost local tourism and community use.
