Global maritime and logistics developments reported across multiple regions
Various regional maritime and logistics developments are underway across several territories. In Uruguay, the National Port Administration (ANP) met with Pacific International Lines (PIL) to discuss long-term logistics plans and port activity in Montevideo. PIL currently operates four container ships connecting Uruguay to the Far East.
In Scotland, Peel Ports Group has reinstated a weekly BG Freight Line container service from Greenock to Rotterdam. This service aims to support independent whisky exporters by providing reliable connections to global markets and utilizing bonded warehousing to manage excise duties.
In Spain, the Port of Gijón has awarded Alsa Servicios Logísticos y Ferroviarios the contract for railway management services at the El Musel and Aboño port areas. The contract, valued at approximately 654,080 euros, covers access and maneuvering services for a period of two to four years.
In Peru, Pialze Oriente S.A.C. has obtained temporary technical viability for the Pialze Oriente Port Terminal (TPPO) in Loreto. The project intends to establish a strategic trade corridor between the Brazilian Amazon and the Peruvian Pacific, facilitating the movement of goods such as soy and phosphates.
