Bronte hosts 35th Pistachio Festival amid transport updates

The 35th edition of the Sagra del Pistacchio di Bronte has commenced in Sicily, celebrating the local DOP green pistachio. The event features culinary demonstrations, the ‘Pistacchio Experience’ educational initiative, and community activities. Mayor Giuseppe Gullotta participated in the opening, which included a symbolic procession and visits to local nursing homes to share the festival's products with elderly residents.

To accommodate the influx of tourists, Ferrovia Circumetnea (FCE) has implemented an enhanced bus service from Catania to Bronte. Special additional routes and dedicated Sunday services are scheduled to support visitor flows between Catania metropolitan stations and the festival site.

Separately, the Marconi Express monorail in Bologna will undergo two periods of service suspension. The first occurs from September 29 to October 1 for system updates to improve passenger comfort, and a second period from October 3 to October 6 for scheduled maintenance and vehicle revisions. During these times, shuttle buses will provide connections between Bologna Central Station and the airport.
