Ferrovie dello Stato expands hiring with graduate and diploma recruitment programmes

Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) announced two recruitment drives aimed at bolstering its technical and operational workforce. One programme targets recent engineering graduates, offering permanent contracts for roles in structural, telecommunications, electric traction and industrial plant design at locations in Milan, Rome and Verona. The advertised gross salary is €33,697 per year (about €1,850 net monthly).

A second drive seeks high‑school diploma holders for a three‑month training scheme in Viterbo, after which successful candidates will be hired as multipurpose railway conductors and shunters on indefinite contracts with a gross salary of €28,723.38 per year. Both initiatives are part of FS’s strategic plan (2025‑2029 and 2026‑2030) that envisages up to 20,000 new hires and a €2.16 billion investment in logistics and rolling stock by 2029.
