Festa dell’Unità events held across Italy feature political debates
Various regional editions of the Festa dell’Unità took place across Italy, featuring political debates and community engagement.
In Turin, the provincial event at Parco Ruffini included discussions led by members of the Caselle Torinese Democratic Party circle. Topics included climate change and ecological transition, featuring MEP Pierfrancesco Maran, as well as gender equality and the reconciliation of work and family life. Another session addressed disinformation, hate speech, and the impact of Artificial Intelligence on gender stereotypes and digital violence.
In Capistrello, the event in Piazza Risorgimento focused on peace, job insecurity, and public education. Local debates also addressed regional issues in the Marsica area, specifically concerning infrastructure challenges like the Liri Superhighway and the Salviano tunnel, as well as agricultural concerns. Fabrizio Lobene, regional president of Confagricoltura, highlighted the economic importance of agriculture and the difficulties caused by drought and irrigation funding cuts.
