Festa do Bom Jesus draws crowds in Santos and Ivaiporã, Brazil
The traditional Festa do Bom Jesus is being celebrated on Ilha Diana in Santos, São Paulo, with free boat service and a program of local cuisine and live music on August 8, 9, 15 and 16. Highlights include grilled tainha, shrimp farofa, oysters and performances by Oscar Guzella, Duh Santos, Alex Santos and João Dias.
In Ivaiporã, Paraná, the municipal holiday on August 6 saw hundreds of faithful attend a mass led by Bishop Dom Carlos José, followed by the customary vehicle blessing and a community lunch. The parish, marking its 70‑year anniversary in 2026, hosted additional religious activities and speeches by local officials.
Both events underscore the cultural and religious significance of the Bom Jesus devotion in their respective communities.
