Festejos Farroupilhas 2026 celebrations set for Rio Grande do Sul

The 2026 Festejos Farroupilhas celebrations in Rio Grande do Sul are preparing for large-scale traditionalist events in Bento Gonçalves and Porto Alegre. The festivities, running from September 4 to 20, will center on the theme ‘Jesuit and Guarani Heritage in Rio Grande do Sul: 400 Years of Culture and Tradition’.

In Bento Gonçalves, the program includes musical performances by Joca Martins and Garotos de Ouro, the Vindima do Verso Festival, and the 14th Copa Bento de Laço. The event honors Arquimede Paz da Conceição as the traditionalist honoree. Activities will take place at the Parque de Rodeios General Bento Gonçalves da Silva and other municipal spaces.

In Porto Alegre, the 44th Acampamento Farroupilha at Parque da Harmonia is currently undergoing site preparation. Due to weather forecasts, the assembly of the final structures was moved forward to ensure completion by late August. The event expects over 2 million visitors and features approximately 120 cultural attractions, including the musical spectacle ‘Via Sacra Missioneira’. Singer Fátima Gimenez serves as the patron of the festivities.
